Bed And Breakfast
B&B is situated near
Montefalco, in the country, surrounded by vineyards, olive- groves,
corn- fields, immersed in nature. It is the ideal place for everyone,
that would pass an healty holiday, foundled by the warbling of birds.
For over ten years
we have offered our guests the pleasure of immersing themselves in
the tranquillity of an authentic and comfortable Bed and Breakfast
set among olive trees and vineyards in a restful and hilly
landscape. A very warm and friendly welcome will immediately make
you feel at home. Our B&B is a true haven of peace nestled in the
Umbrian countryside where you will relax in the shade of our ancient
elm trees whilst sipping the excellent wine of Montefalco. That is
how our Bed and Breakfast San Marco has had the chance to be in the
last five publications of the Routard guide.
In the course of
those years, we have been very happy to welcome hundreds of guests
from all over the world and the exchanges between very different
cultures have provided us with unforgettable moments. Iím thinking
of a poet/beekeeper from the French town of Angers, of an old
American professor of literature who comes back year after year, of
a Swiss writer who has found here a new source of inspiration and
has rekindled her creative spirit and of so many others whose photos
are preciously kept in our guest book. Our faithful little dog
Mowgli who is by now a real polyglot was born on the day we opened
the Bed and Breakfast and is now famous worldwide for his warm
welcome with polished professionalism.
In our typical
Umbrian farmhouse, you will be staying in comfortable rooms with
apparent beams all equipped with a private bathroom, satellite
television and free Wi-fi access. You will enjoy your breakfast in a
very pleasant lounge where you will also be able to buy some local
products (Mowgliís shop!). Every morning Carla will prepare
delicious local specialties just for you and adapted to your tastes.
In summertime you
will be woken up by the chirps of birds perched in the trees nearby.
You will then enjoy your breakfast under the shaded arbor and if you
are short of ideas, Carla will advise you on the best itinerary for
the day, on the places to visit and the restaurants no to be missed.
She will be there to answer all your questions so you have the best
For those who like
walking there is a small yet beautiful forest very near our B&B with
very rare and ancient essences and many paths where you can wander.
There are also endless signposted paths you can explore either on
foot or by bike.
We have indeed the
privilege of being located geographically in the very centre of
Umbria, a stoneís throw of the most beautiful arts towns of the
region. Have you ever been to Assise , Spoleto, Spello, Trevi, Todi,
Perugia and Foligno? So, what are you waiting for? On the way, and
only ten minutes away from our place, you will also discover
medieval villages with incredible architectural and artistic
treasures such as Montefalco, Bevagna, Gualdo Cattaneo or Torre del
Colle to name but a few. A bit further afield Ėbut you wonít regret
it- you can go and discover the Duomo of Orvieto, its Etruscan
cemetery, the famous Civita di Bagnoregio, a beautiful town known
for its striking position.
Carla will advise
you on where to buy the best wines, the best oil, the best honey and
the best truffles directly from the producers.
In order to please
the mums who want to get rid of their kids and husbands momentarily,
we have very recently installed a play area and a small football
pitch where the dads and their little ones will play merciless
games. Philippe intends to have a vegetable garden and a boules
ground very soon, as well as build an enclosure for a couple of
donkeys to please the children.
Last but not least,
letís not forget that our large multifunction room is now
operational and can be used as a place for exhibitions; it is fully
equipped to host concerts, plays, workshops, company seminars,
family reunions, in other words all sorts of special events.
See you soon! Itís
so easy to find us!
and Nicola Papapietro (and letís not forget Mowgli, our manager)
